Every spring one of the first flowers to arrive is the anemones. Their bright little eyes chasing away the winter and finally giving us something to play with.
We originally had the “panda” anemones (with the black eyes) and the Bride anemones (white with green eyes). They are a perennial and come back every year, even despite our cold weather this past year. New this year I added the double petaled anemones. Loving those!!
To document all the varieties this year, I had to take part in the fun of “decapitating” of all my favorite ones.
Going in for the closeup. I love the eye on this one.
Finally, we brought some inside for Easter Brunch.
They are a little finicky out of water, but last a few good days in a vase especially if you change the water.
Its mid-April now and the season for them will soon come to an end, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted. Next year I hope to add a few shades of pink and wine colors to the collection.
